IT 102 - Elementary Italian II
Course Description
Five hours of instruction per week. This course is the second semester of college-level study in Italian. Emphasis is placed on the further development of oral proficiency and listening skills, advanced reading comprehension, writing skills, analysis of grammatical structures, and an understanding of Italian culture and society. Regular class attendance and participation is expected.

- IT 101 with a grade of “C” or higher.

Course Objectives
- To have a solid grounding in the fundamental grammatical structures of the Italian language.
- To be able to understand and speak Italian at an advanced introductory level.
- To be able to read and comprehend contemporary Italian prose literature.
- To be able to write analytically and creatively in Italian in a manner appropriate to the level
- To have a greater awareness and appreciation of Italian culture and society as contextualized by the study of the Italian language
